Across Lite/Java Licensing costs and Options

If you do not already have a source for crosswords, Litsoft has partnered with CrosSynergy Syndicate to supply high quality, previously unpublished crosswords  constructed by some of the best-known crossword authors for daily or weekly publication. The crosswords will be supplied ready for use with the applet. Please go to the syndication page for details. The software is included free with a syndication subscription. The costs on this page are for purchase of software without a crossword subscription.

Single purchase:

US$500 one-time fee for unlimited usage per domain name. Each authorized domain name that contains a web page with an APPLET tag pointing to our applet code must have a license regardless of where the applet is actually hosted. In most cases, we expect the domain where the applet is hosted and the domain of the web page presenting the crossword to be the same. Enquire for special rates for partner sites and syndication distribution. This price includes:

• A full copy of the applet as shown in the samples in this preview capable of presenting crosswords upto 17x17 size. Can be customized for up to 23x23.
• A copy of Across Lite program on any of the supported platforms (Win, mac, OS/2 or Unix) to output puzzles in Across format along with instructions. We can also provide converters to convert a crossword in some other format to the Across format automatically. Otherwise, a text-editor and a copy of Across Lite is all you need to convert a puzzle to Across format for online distribution.
• 60-day unlimited online technical support to the licensee (excluding end-users).
• 90-day warranty against any defects.
• End-user instruction sheet that may be adopted as necessary for the web site.

Optional charges:

• End-user support: $US500/year for unlimited online support to end-users. This fee is waived for those that purchase or have a maintenance support agreement for the downloadable version of the software.
• Customization charges: Varies on the customization and is expected to add a surcharge of 10% to 100% to the base charges based on the level of customization required.
