Across Lite/Java
Customization Possibilities
The applet
is designed to be easily customized for specific publisher needs.
If the applet as shown in this preview does not satisfy your requirements
in any way, just contact us with
your wish-list and we should be able to accommodate you rather
easily. To give you an idea of the types of customizations that
are possible, we have listed a few on this page.
We gve you
an option to place your logo on the left panel of the applet when
we prepare your purchased applet.
User-interface
customization:
- The left
panel with the logo and check and reveal commands can be completely
customized to fit the web site design style both in the design
and color scheme. Or it can be completely left out to conserve
space on the web page.
- Advertiser
logos or company logos can be placed on that panel either as
a fixed image or as a periodically updated image associated
with click-thru functionality.
- The clue
lists can be moved from the right side to any side (top, bottom
or left) of the puzzle grid to fit the available real estate
on the web page. They can even be replaced by a popup clue prompt
showing just the current clue if space for the applet is at
a premium due to the web page design.
Applet
features customization:
- The applet
shown with the sample puzzles in this preview is a careful compromise
between functionality, aesthetics and applet code size that
determines the download time for the applet to appear on user's
web browsers. For current versions of Netscape Navigator or
Internet Explorer, it takes about 15-20 seconds to download
on a dial-in Internet connection. The applet as shown features
a subset of the commands that our downloadable versions of the
program contain.
Based on the focus of the web site, additional functionality
may be desired in the applet. Serious crossword sites may prefer
more user options for their audience. Some game sites may need
features to report correctness or scores back to the hosting
site. Variety puzzles may need enhancements in the type of symbols
or colors used in the grid. We can customize the applet to suit
particular needs and configure the applet with just the set
of features needed for a specific application or site type.
The applet as demonstrated in this showcase is designed for
most sites that have no special requirements.
