Across Lite/Java Crossword Samples

The Across Lite Java applet works equally well with both Standard (or American) style grids and Cryptic style grids. Samples of both kind are provided below for you to fully test out the applet on your own web browser.

The user-interface is extremely intuitive and should require no instructions. However, for those that have not used our downloadable software or those for whom prior experience with other crossword software predisposes them to certain incompatible habits, we have an instruction summary available.

The samplers are shown in just one of the many different configurations possible with the Across Lite Java applet. Based on publisher requirements, the applet can be customized aesthetically and in functionality to have any subset of the full set of features of the downloadable versions. Just contact us with your specific needs.

You should note that after the first download of a crossword in the applet, subsequent downloads are considerably faster (especially in Netscape Navigator) as the web browser uses the cached version of the applet and just fetches the crossword puzzle file which is less than 2k in size for a 15x15 puzzle.
