Answers
- The printed font for clues and/or clue numbers
for Sunday puzzles is too small for me. What can I do?
Across Lite tries to fit everything in one page, but some puzzles are
just too large to fit. Sometimes, switching from portrait to landscape
or vice versa in your printer setup provides a better layout for a given
puzzle. If you find that your printer can print much closer to the margin
than what Across Lite thinks it can, try using the scaling option in the
printer setup to enlarge the output. If none of that is satisfactory, see
answer to next question to print the puzzle spread over two pages.
- How do I print the puzzle spread across two
pages?
Print it twice. The first time when you get the print items selection
box, choose customize and select just the grid, numbers and any of the
legends only. Print it. The second time, choose Customize and just the
clues. Print it. All clues will apear in one page and the grid in the other.
- Can I print a regular puzzle as a diagramless
puzzle?
Here is a good approximation. Use the Customize option to select just
the clues and print it. You can use the instructions in the manual for
creating a puzzle that has no black cells, one for a 15x15 puzzle and another
for a 21x21 puzzle. Load it and print out several copies with just the
grid (no numbers) selected for future use. If you are not sure how
to do this, send e-mail to helpdesk@litsoft.com
and we will send you two puzzles to do that.
If you don't even want to chance a look at the grid in the brief moment
between when you load the regular puzzle into Across Lite and print out
just the clues, load another puzzle and resize the panes in the layout
so that the entire window is covered by the clue columns. Save the configuration.
Now, whenever you load a puzzle, you will never see the actual grid.
