Note: Since this version allows digits to be entered as solutions, it is no longer possible to jump to a particular clue by typing in the clue number.

Enter multiple letters in the same cell:

To enter multiple letters in the current cell, click on Insert key on your keyboard (or select Insert->Multiple Letters from the Edit Menu) to bring up a small edit window over that cell and enter the letters (up to 8 characters). Press return/enter when you are done. If you want to cancel entering multiple letters, press Esc key to remove the multi-character edit window.

Enter non-letters or symbols in a cell:

You can enter @, #, $, %, &, +, ? as well as digits 0-9 using your keyboard. To enter more graphic symbols, use Shift+Insert keys on your keyboard (or select Insert->Symbol from the Edit Menu) to bring up a symbol palette and click on the symbol you wish to enter. You can leave the symbol palette up or close it using the Esc key or the close (X) button on the top right corner.

Customize the toolbar

Double-click with the mouse on the toolbar (outside any button area!) to bring up a dialog box that will allow you to add or remove buttons from the toolbar. You can also change the order of buttons in this dialog box. See more details.

Change displayed or printed fonts

Select Options from the Edit menu of Across Lite program or click on Options button in the toolbar. In the dialog box that comes up, click on the Fonts tab and perfom the 3 steps on that dialog box and click on apply. See more details.

Check if a puzzle has notepad contents

Check the area where the title/date of the puzzle is displayed (between the toolbar and the puzzle grid/prompt). If there is a note in the puzzle notepad, there will be a yellow icon displayed to the right of any puzzle title/date. Click on it to open the notepad. See picture below.
